Orchestra Dues

Parents and Students,

Winter is upon us. School is almost half way done!

DUES ar due.  Girls dresses that have been ordered. Girls will not get their dresses until the dress payments are paid. Dresses will be coming in next week. Please have money turned in by December 2nd, 2015.

Attention Intermediate Orchestra Parents

Dear Intermediate Orchestra Parents,

Winter Concert season is just around the corner!  Listed below is information you will need for this concert as well as other important items.

Winter Concert
Our annual Winter Concert will take place on Wednesday, December 9.  This concert will feature all four orchestras and will be held in the GVHS Theater. Call time for the Intermediate Orchestra will be 6:00 p.m. The concert will begin at 7:00 and should finish no later than 8:30 p.m. All students will need to be in concert uniform for this performance and all other formal concerts during the year. A reminder of the uniform is listed below:
Girls
Floor length GVHS black dress
Black stockings or tights

Boys
Black dress or tux pants
Black dress shoes
Black long tie
Black long sleeve dress shirt
Black dress shoes and socks
Black jacket (optional)

Please note that all female students are expected to wear black nylons or tights and all male students must have black socks that cover their ankles and black dress shoes. All girls who did not have the GVHS black dress were fitted for one during class last month. The dresses have been ordered and will be ready for pick up by December 2. The cost of the dress is $72.00 and the dress needs to be paid for by December 1.  GVHS only accepts cash, money order, or cashier’s check for uniforms. You may also pay by credit/debit card on the GVHS Web Store for a nominal fee if you wish. If you will have difficulty paying for the dress by the deadline, please contact me by email or note so we can work a payment schedule out.

Winter Concert Raffle
Every year our booster club collects donated items (show tickets, gift baskets, etc.) that are then raffled off at our Winter and Spring Concerts. If you know of a business or an individual that would like to help our orchestra program please contact me with their information or secure the donation and send it to school with your child by Tuesday, December 8. Attached to this letter is information to give to potential donors. Feel free to make copies if you need. Thank you in advance for helping to make our Winter Concert Raffle a success.

Honey Baked Ham Gift Cards

The orchestra will start selling Honey Baked Ham Gift Cards in denominations of $10, $25, $35, and $50 later this week. The gift cards can be used at any Honey Baked Ham store and are face value. For every gift card sold the student earns, 20% of the value of the card in their fund raising account. Gift card orders and money are due no later than Thursday, December 10 and students will be able to pick up the gift cards for delivery after school on Monday, December 14.

Fine Arts Concert
The annual Fine Arts Concert will take place on Friday morning, December 11 and features the top ensembles from the orchestra, band, choir, theater, and dance programs. There will be two school wide assemblies for students, faculty, and invited guests. Family and friends are welcome to attend one of the assemblies if you have Friday morning free. The first assembly begins at 8:20 a.m. and the second assembly begins at 9:25 a.m. Call time for students is 7:00 a.m.
