Dear Chamber Orchestra Parents,
Please find below information about our upcoming performances and our trip to Southern California.
Festival Workshop and Concert
On Tuesday, March 15 the orchestras will host a special guest clinician who will spend the day working with our orchestras. Bill Bitter is an award winning music educator who has taught high school orchestra in the Phoenix, Arizona area for over 30 years. He will also be one of our festival judges on March 16. Mr. Bitter will work with our students during their regular orchestra class periods on the concert music we have been rehearsing. To culminate our workshop day with Mr. Bitter the students will perform a concert in the Green Valley HS Theater that evening. This concert will begin at 6:00 p.m. and feature the Intermediate Orchestra, Advanced Orchestra, and Chamber Orchestra. Friends and family are encouraged to support our students by coming to this free concert. The concert will be fairly short and should be over by 7:15 p.m. Call for the students will be 5:10 p.m.

I will have pizza delivered for the students to have a late lunch when we return to school. Family and friends are more than welcome and encouraged to attend our performances. All students need to ride the bus to LVA but parents may transport their student home from LVA as long as I have a note ahead of time.
California Trip
The final payment for March 31 – April 2 trip to California is due on Thursday, March 17. The payment of $100.00 can be made in cash, money order, or cashier’s check directly to the school bank or the student can bring the payment to their orchestra class. Payment can also be made on the GVHS web store under Green Valley Orchestra Trip. Since our trip is the weekend after Spring break it is imperative that all payments are made by the due date. If you need to make other arrangements, please contact me as soon as possible. Please also note that after March 17 both the deposit and the 2nd trip payment are non-refundable if a student cancels.
Thank you for your continued support of the GVHS Orchestra program. I am extremely grateful to be teaching such outstanding students and I look forward to outstandingFestival performances with them. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have.
